About Me

An Ivy League Admit at Your Service

My name is Bella Fassett and I am a 2019 graduate of Bend High School and recipient of the International Baccalaureate Diploma. I live in Northwest Crossing in Bend, Oregon with my parents and three younger brothers who go to Summit High and Pacific Crest. Some of the extracurricular activities that I participated in during high school are as follows:

  • Youth Liaison for the Deschutes County Health Services Prevention Team

  • Member of the State Advisory Board for My Future My Choice, which is one of Oregon’s comprehensive sexual health curriculums

  • Communications Director for the Interact Community Service Club at Bend High

  • Captain of Bend High’s Speech and Debate team

  • Writer for Balance the Ballot, a student-run news organization with a global following

After high school, I decided to take a gap year with the program Global Citizen Year which sends high school graduates on gap years to Senegal, Brazil, India, and Ecuador. I have recently returned from my year in Ecuador where I lived with a host family in the Imbabura region and held an internship at Fundación Arupo which provides healthcare for children with disabilities.

I will be attending the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington DC as a part of the class of 2024 and will be studying International Politics with a minor in Spanish.

My Story

What was my experience applying to college?

The college application process was extremely stressful and confusing for me at times. This was partially due to the number of schools I applied to but also because I didn’t feel as though I had the necessary resources. I started the process later than I should have and missed more than a few deadlines. Everything turned out great in the end, but I would have given anything to have someone guide me through the process to help me feel more confident and less stressed. In applying to college, I learned so much about how the process works and collected mountains of resources and information along the way. Now having completed the process, I hope to share all that I have learned!

In applying to college, I wrote upwards of 30 essays for my applications! While this may seem daunting, it can be much more manageable if you go about it the right way. I will help with brainstorming and editing essays including the all-important Personal statement that gets sent to every school you apply to.

Chatting after Class

Interview Prep

Interviews are an important part of the application process for very selective schools. I will help you prepare for interviews and practice with you just as I experienced my interviews during my application process.

What makes your services different?

Aside from strategizing to get you into your dream school, my goal is to help you feel confident, energized, and excited about the college application process. As a student, I hope to connect with you on a level that a college counselor with decades of experience may not be able to. Ultimately, I want you to reach your highest potential and end up at a college that is right for you.

FAQs

How much do you charge for your services?

Text, email, or call me to set up a consultation. I charge a fraction of what most local college counselors charge. We can set up as many or as few appointments as you'd like.

What if I can’t afford college counseling?

If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, I would be happy to work with you free of charge. If you don’t qualify but still are not able to pay my full rate, pay whatever you can afford.

What experience do you have?

The experience I have is recently going through the process of applying to 16 colleges, having alumni interviews, and visiting colleges. I do not have any certifications for college counseling.

Is there anything you can't help me with?

I can point you in the right direction for most topics but I cannot personally help you with FAFSA, most aspects of financial aid, recruitment for college athletics, hands-on ACT and SAT prep, music and art supplements, and various other specific topics.

Do I have to buy a package to work with you?

No package is necessary because I want to make my services affordable and customizable.

Where do you hold your sessions?

For now, I will be doing meetings using Zoom.
